Festoon
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-002237
A system of looped cables or hoses used to manage and protect electrical power, control signals, or fluid lines for moving equipment. The cables are suspended from trolleys that run along a track or wire, allowing them to expand and contract in an accordion-like fashion as the machine travels. This system is a common feature on overhead cranes, hoists, and other equipment that traverses a fixed path, preventing cables from tangling or becoming damaged.
