Yarder

A stationary machine used in logging to pull felled trees or logs from the stump to a landing area using a system of cables and winches. It consists of a power unit, drums for winding cables, and a tower or mast to elevate the rigging. Yarders are employed on steep terrain or in areas where ground-based skidding equipment is impractical.
