Drag path
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-001836
A temporary, informal route through a harvest area along which felled trees or logs are dragged from the stump to a more established skid trail or landing. These paths are created by the repeated passage of skidding equipment, such as a grapple skidder or cable skidder, moving logs to a central collection point. Unlike engineered skid trails, drag paths are not intentionally constructed or graded and are intended for short-term use during a specific harvesting operation, following the most direct route to minimize skidding distance.
