Diode
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-001732
A semiconductor device that allows electric current to flow in one direction only, blocking it in the reverse direction. This rectifying property makes it suitable for converting alternating current to direct current. Common types include silicon diodes, Zener diodes for voltage regulation, and light-emitting diodes (LEDs).
