Triode
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-006188
A three-electrode vacuum tube consisting of a cathode, an anode (plate), and a control grid, used for amplification or switching electronic signals. A small voltage change on the grid controls a much larger current flow between the cathode and anode. Triodes were fundamental components in early radio and audio amplifiers before the advent of transistors.
