Space charge
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-005482
An accumulation of net electric charge within a region of a vacuum tube, semiconductor, or other device, caused by the presence of free electrons or ions. This charge creates an electric field that influences the movement of other charged particles. In vacuum tubes, space charge can limit the current flow between the cathode and anode.
