Space line

A blank line of type used in letterpress printing to create vertical separation between paragraphs or sections of text. This line is composed of non-printing material, such as leads or slugs, that are the same height as the type body but do not have a raised printing surface. It contributes to the visual hierarchy and readability of a printed page.
