Cathode ray tube
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-001003
A vacuum tube that produces a focused beam of electrons, which are then accelerated and deflected onto a phosphorescent screen to create an image. Electromagnetic coils or electrostatic plates control the beam's movement, allowing it to scan across the screen. This technology was widely used in televisions, computer monitors, and oscilloscopes before the advent of flat-panel displays.
