Describing a cable or connection where the pin-out configuration at one end directly matches the pin-out at the other end, without any cross-over or reversal of wires. This type of cabling is used to connect devices of different types, such as a computer to a hub or switch. An Ethernet straight-through cable connects a network interface card (NIC) to a network switch or router.
