Ethernet card

A network interface controller (NIC) that allows a computer to connect to a wired local area network (LAN) using Ethernet standards. This hardware component translates digital data from the computer into electrical signals for transmission over an Ethernet cable, and vice versa. Modern Ethernet cards typically support speeds of 1 Gigabit per second (Gbps) or higher.
