Sound card

An internal expansion card or integrated circuit that provides audio input and output capabilities to a computer. It converts digital audio data into analog signals for speakers or headphones, and analog input from microphones into digital data. Modern motherboards often include integrated sound chipsets, eliminating the need for a separate expansion card.
