Switch

An electrical or electronic device that can open or close a circuit, thereby controlling the flow of electricity or data. In electrical systems, it connects or disconnects power to a load. In data networks, a network switch forwards data packets between devices based on their MAC addresses, creating dedicated connections for efficient communication.
