Shielded twisted pair

A type of electrical cable consisting of one or more pairs of insulated conductors twisted together and enclosed within a metallic shield. The shield, typically foil or braid, reduces electromagnetic interference (EMI) from external sources and prevents signal leakage. This construction is used in environments with high electrical noise, such as industrial control systems.
