Annuitant

The individual on whose life an annuity contract is based and who receives the periodic payments from the annuity. The annuitant's age and life expectancy are key factors in determining the payment amounts and duration of the annuity. In some cases, the annuitant and the contract owner are the same person, but they can also be different.
