Bobtail liability

Insurance coverage for a tractor unit when it is operating without an attached trailer, regardless of whether it is under dispatch. This coverage protects the owner or operator for liability arising from accidents during these unladen movements. It is distinct from non-trucking liability, which applies when the tractor is not under dispatch and not hauling a trailer.
