Cancel and rewrite

The practice of terminating an existing insurance policy before its natural expiration date and immediately issuing a new policy to the same insured. This action is often taken to make changes to coverage, adjust premiums, or update policy terms that cannot be accomplished through an endorsement. It can result in new policy numbers and effective dates.
