Class rating

A method of determining insurance premiums by applying a single rate to all insureds within a particular group or class that shares similar characteristics. This approach simplifies the rating process for homogeneous groups, such as standard residential properties or certain types of small businesses. Rates are based on the collective loss experience of the entire class rather than individual risk assessment.
