Class action

A lawsuit filed by one or more individuals on behalf of a larger group of people who have suffered similar harm from the same defendant. The court must certify the class, determining that common questions of law or fact predominate over individual issues. All members of the certified class are bound by the judgment, whether favorable or unfavorable.
