Opt-out lawsuits
Term · Insurance and risk management · MLC-T-INS-002430
Legal actions brought by individuals or entities who choose not to participate in a class action lawsuit, instead pursuing their own separate claims against the same defendant. This allows them to maintain greater control over their litigation and potentially achieve a larger settlement or judgment than they might receive as part of a class. The decision to opt out is often based on the size and unique circumstances of their individual damages.
