Class Action Fairness Act of 2005 (CAFA)

A United States federal law that expanded federal court jurisdiction over class action lawsuits. It allows defendants to remove certain class actions from state to federal court if the amount in controversy exceeds $5 million and there is minimal diversity of citizenship among the parties.
