Class 2 insureds
Term · Insurance and risk management · MLC-T-INS-000775
A person who qualifies as an insured under uninsured and underinsured motorists coverage only by occupying the covered auto, such as a passenger or permissive driver, rather than as the named insured or a resident relative. The protection applies only while in that insured vehicle and does not follow the person elsewhere. Class 2 insureds typically cannot stack UM limits across vehicles, unlike Class 1 insureds.
