Employees as additional insureds
Term · Insurance and risk management · MLC-T-INS-001301
An arrangement in which the employees of one party, such as a project owner or municipality, are named as additional insureds on another party's liability policy, usually a contractor's or consultant's. It protects those employees when they are sued over the contractor's work. Contracts require it as a risk transfer condition, and it differs from the automatic insured status employees already have under their own employer's general liability policy.
