Commercial general liability policy (CGL)

A standard insurance policy issued to business organizations to protect them against liability claims for bodily injury and property damage arising out of premises, operations, products, and completed operations. It covers legal costs and damages for which the insured is found legally responsible. Most CGL policies are written on an occurrence basis.
