Incontestable clause

A provision in a life insurance policy that prevents the insurer from denying a claim based on misrepresentations in the application after a specified period, typically one or two years from the policy's issue date. This clause protects policyholders from rescission due to minor errors or omissions discovered years later. It does not apply to non-payment of premiums or lack of insurable interest.
