Incurred losses

The total amount of losses that have occurred during a specific period, regardless of whether they have been paid or not. This figure includes both claims that have been paid and claims that have been reported but are still outstanding, as well as an estimate for claims that have occurred but have not yet been reported (IBNR). Incurred losses are a key component in calculating an insurer's profitability.
