International Registration Plan IRP

A reciprocity agreement among U.S. states, the District of Columbia, and Canadian provinces for registering commercial vehicles that travel in multiple jurisdictions. Under IRP, a carrier registers its fleet in its base jurisdiction and receives one license plate and cab card for each vehicle. The registration fees are then apportioned among the member jurisdictions based on the mileage traveled in each.
