Jumbo risk

A risk exposure that is exceptionally large in terms of its potential financial loss, exceeding the capacity of a single underwriter or standard reinsurance treaties. These risks require specialized underwriting and are placed with multiple insurers or reinsurers through facultative reinsurance or syndication. Examples include insuring major infrastructure projects, large aircraft fleets, or concentrated property values in catastrophe-prone areas.
