Livestock collision

A type of auto insurance claim resulting from a vehicle striking an animal, such as a deer, elk, or domestic livestock. This event is distinct from a collision with another vehicle or a stationary object. In a standard personal auto policy, damage from hitting an animal is covered under the policy's other-than-collision coverage, not the collision coverage section.
