Migrant and Seasonal Agricultural Worker Protection Act of 1983 (MSAWPA)

A federal law that establishes employment standards for farm labor contractors, agricultural employers, and agricultural associations that recruit, hire, or transport migrant and seasonal agricultural workers. The Migrant and Seasonal Agricultural Worker Protection Act of 1983 (MSAWPA) requires disclosure of wages, hours, and working conditions, and it sets standards for housing and transportation safety. The Act is enforced by the Wage and Hour Division of the U.S. Department of Labor.
