Noncontrolled foreign corporation (NCFC)

A foreign corporation in which United States shareholders own less than 50 percent of the total combined voting power or value of its stock. Unlike controlled foreign corporations, the income of an NCFC is generally not subject to immediate U.S. taxation for its U.S. shareholders.
