Original age

Term · Insurance and risk management · MLC-T-INS-002436

The age of the insured at the time an insurance policy was initially issued. This age is a key factor in determining the premium rates for many life and health insurance products. When a policy is converted or exchanged, sometimes the original age can be used to calculate new premiums, potentially resulting in lower costs than using the insured's current age.
