Patient's Bill of Rights legislation

A set of laws, existing at both federal and state levels, that define and protect the relationship between patients and healthcare providers, including insurance plans. These rights include access to emergency services, the ability to appeal coverage denials, and protection of patient information confidentiality. The federal Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 codified a nationwide set of these rights for all health insurance plans.
