Protective safeguards endorsement

An endorsement that conditions coverage on the insured keeping scheduled protective safeguards, such as automatic sprinklers, fire alarms or a security service, in working order and reporting any impairment to the insurer. If the insured fails to do so, the insurer can refuse to pay the related loss. ISO's version is form CP 04 11, whose exclusion applies to fire loss.
