Quid pro quo

An exchange of goods or services, where one transfer is contingent upon another. In insurance, this concept applies to situations where a benefit or concession is granted in return for a specific action or agreement from the other party. For example, an insurer might offer a lower premium in exchange for the insured implementing certain risk mitigation measures.
