Subpart F income

A category of passive or easily movable income earned by a controlled foreign corporation (CFC) that is immediately taxable to its U.S. shareholders, regardless of whether it is distributed. This provision of the U.S. tax code, specifically sections 951-965, aims to prevent U.S. companies from deferring U.S. taxes by accumulating certain types of income in offshore subsidiaries. Examples include passive income like interest, dividends, rents, and royalties, as well as certain sales and services income.
