Terminal dividend

A non-guaranteed payment made to policyholders of participating life insurance policies when the policy matures, is surrendered, or the insured dies. This additional dividend reflects the insurer's financial performance and investment returns over the policy's lifetime. It is distinct from annual dividends and is paid only once.
