Modified or alternative job tasks assigned to an injured employee who is medically cleared for light duty but not yet able to perform their original job. These duties are temporary and designed to align with the physical limitations prescribed by a physician, forming a key part of a return-to-work program. The duration of a transitional duty assignment is specified by the treating physician and is reviewed periodically, often every 30 to 60 days, based on the employee's recovery progress.
