Transit coverage

A form of inland marine insurance that protects a business's property against loss or damage while it is being transported from one location to another. This policy covers goods in transit over land, such as by truck or train, whether on vehicles owned by the insured or by a third-party carrier. Coverage can be written on a trip-specific basis or as an annual policy for all shipments within a defined territory.
