Marine insurance

A category of insurance covering loss or damage to vessels, cargo, or any property during transit over water, land, or air. It encompasses both ocean marine policies, for transport across seas, and inland marine policies, which cover goods in transit over land, as well as certain types of movable property. Marine policies are often written on specialized forms with unique clauses, such as the general average clause.
