Utility service interruption coverage
Term · Insurance and risk management · MLC-T-INS-003756
An endorsement to a commercial property policy that covers financial losses resulting from the disruption of electrical, water, gas, or communications services supplied by an off-premises provider. The coverage responds when a covered peril, such as a fire or windstorm, damages the utility's property and causes an interruption at the insured's location. A time-based deductible, such as 24 or 48 hours, must be met before the policy begins to pay for lost income or extra expenses.
