Vacancy permit endorsement
Term · Insurance and risk management · MLC-T-INS-003451
An addition to a property insurance policy that extends coverage to a building that would otherwise be considered vacant and therefore excluded from protection. Standard policies suspend or limit coverage after a building has been vacant for a specified period, usually 30 to 60 days. The permit restores certain coverages, although it might still exclude perils like vandalism or freezing, and requires an additional premium.
