Administrative expenses

Costs incurred in the general management and operation of a business or an estate, rather than directly related to production or sales. In bankruptcy proceedings, these are costs of preserving the estate and administering the case, such as attorney fees and trustee compensation. They are typically given priority in payment over other unsecured claims.
