Attorney work product

Materials prepared by an attorney or their agents in anticipation of litigation or for trial. This doctrine protects such materials from discovery by opposing parties, fostering open communication between lawyers and clients and allowing attorneys to prepare their cases without undue interference. The protection covers mental impressions, conclusions, opinions, and legal theories.
