Chapter 13 bankruptcy

A form of bankruptcy that allows individuals with regular income to develop a plan to repay all or part of their debts over three to five years. Debtors retain their property and make regular payments to a trustee, who then distributes the funds to creditors. This chapter is often chosen by debtors who want to save their homes from foreclosure.
