Distribution of profits

The allocation of a company's net earnings to its owners, partners, or shareholders. This can take the form of dividends for corporations, or draws and allocations for partnerships and sole proprietorships. The method and timing of profit distribution are typically governed by the entity's operating agreement or corporate bylaws.
