Judicial review

The power of a court to examine the actions of the legislative, executive, and administrative branches of government to determine if such actions are consistent with the constitution. If a court finds an action to be unconstitutional, it can declare it null and void. The scope and procedure for judicial review are defined by the laws and constitution of the specific jurisdiction, such as Article III of the U.S. Constitution.
