Jury fees

A sum of money that a party in a civil lawsuit must pay to the court to request a trial by jury. This fee covers the administrative costs associated with empaneling a jury and the statutory per diem paid to jurors for their service. The requirement and amount of the fee are set by statute and vary by jurisdiction; failure to pay the fee in a timely manner can result in a waiver of the right to a jury trial.
