Vigilante

An individual who takes law enforcement into their own hands without legal authority, often in response to perceived failures of the official justice system. These actions, though sometimes motivated by a desire for justice, are illegal and can result in criminal charges for assault, kidnapping, or murder. Vigilantism is prohibited because it undermines the rule of law and due process.
