Document shipment

A type of courier or express delivery service exclusively for transporting papers and documents that have no commercial value. These shipments are distinct from parcel shipments because they do not contain goods and are therefore exempt from the customs duties and taxes that apply to merchandise. Document shipments are processed through customs with simplified declarations, as their declared value is typically zero or a nominal amount.
