Calibration tank
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-004110
A container holding a fluid with known, stable properties used to calibrate meteorological instruments. The instrument's sensor is immersed in the tank's medium to check its response against the established standard. For example, a temperature sensor is tested in a water bath held at precisely controlled temperatures, such as the triple point of water (0.01°C), to verify its accuracy.
